Welcome to
CLS!!
Thanks
to all who came to the first meeting held on Tuesday September 11th. We hope to see you again and, if possible, bring
another CLS parent!! If you cannot
attend meetings, you can join and volunteer for events if time allows. Dues are $5.00 per family and membership forms
are located in the magazine rack in the main entrance of the school.
PTO Meetings
Meetings
are held on the second Tuesday of the month (unless otherwise indicated) at
7:00 p.m. in the
October
16th, November 13th, December 11th, January 8th,
February 12th, March 11th, April 8th, May 13th
and June 10th
PTO has
many events, programs and fundraisers where people can volunteer to help
out. This is a great way to help the
school, and ultimately your children, even if you cannot attend meetings. The PTO will have detailed information at the
CLS Open House on September 20 as well as sign up sheets for all programs.

The Reading At Home Kickoff is September 27th. This years’ theme is bowling. The children will receive reading at home folders
and participate in some fun activities. A suggested reading time is 30
minutes per day. Please encourage
your children to read!!
Fundraisers
Fall Fundraiser is in
full swing right now. Orders should be returned on September 24th
and delivery is expected before Thanksgiving. All items ordered should be
on the pink order form. If you have any questions, contact
Upcoming
Fundraisers are Butterbraids, Ice Cream Social, Gift Cards,
CLS T-Shirt sale, and our annual Book Fair which will be held
during conferences (December 5th – 7th). We need volunteers for this fundraiser, setting
up, working during fair hours, and packing up.
Please contact Pam Moffitt at 871-0395 for additional information. Note: Proceeds from the book fair supply the book
rewards for the reading at home program, classroom books and library materials.
Cultural Arts
Another
very important program is the Cultural Arts Program. PTO
brings wonderful educational assemblies that include well-known authors,
National Theatre of the Deaf, Story Crafters, and National Marionettes, to name
a few. Our new Cultural Arts Chairperson
is
Box Tops
for Education will continue with a new
Chairperson. Thanks to Stacy Beaudry for
taking over Box Tops as well as the Hood Sox Tops. Please continue to cut box tops and save
your Hood Sox Tops. Send them to school
with your child. Even Yankee fans can help
with this program! Thank you for your
support. CLS PTO received approximately
$1,000 last year from these programs.
