A Note to the Incoming First
Grade Parents
Enjoy the time together...
As summertime passes, and
school time draws near, you may wonder what your child may need for the first
day of school.
Here are just a few things to
let you know about...
*There is snack on the
first day of school. Your child should have a nutritious snack every day.
* A small plastic pencil box measuring approximately 8”
Wide X 5” Across X 2” Depth
This size work well for
fitting in their chair packs.
*A smock for art.
*A backpack or something for your
child to carry things
back and forth to school.
The children do not need
notebooks.
Scissors, crayons, and a glue
stick are provided in the beginning of the year. There
may come a time when the glue sticks and pencils may need to be
replaced for your child.
The following items are
always welcome as they are frequently used in centers.
-
children’s zoobook magazines (any old magazines that are no longer
wanted)
-
craft items (styrofoam, seasonal items etc)
-
paper plates
-
ziplock bags (gallon size and sandwich size
-
paper lunch bags
A postcard will be mailed
to your child before school begins from his/her teacher. We look forward to
meeting everyone.
But in the meantime … Enjoy the wonderful, hazy, days of
summer!
