Becoming
Involved
There are 3 criterion used in identifying students for the Enrichment Program.
Students receive points based on performance in each of the following.
The points are then calculated to determine the top 15% in each grade.
1) Grades
2) CMT test scores 3) Teacher Recommendations
1) Grades:
For students to be selected into the program, they must have B's or higher
in all academic subjects. Students who receive C's will not be
eligible for the formal identification that takes place in May or June.
They may however revolve into the program based on future performance in the
5th or 6th grade and teacher nominations.
2) CMT Test
Scores:
Points are assigned directly to standardized test scores.
3) Teacher
Recommendations:
Points are also awarded by teachers in the following categories:
-
Learning Characteristics
-
Motivational Characteristics
-
Creativity Characteristics
-
Leadership Characteristics
The Final Equation
is:
( Average Academic
points x 2) + (CMT Reading points) + (CMT Writing points) + (CMT
Math points) + (Learning Characteristics x 2) + (Motivational Characteristics
x 2) + (Creativity Characteristics) + (Leadership Characteristics)
= a possible perfect score of 100.
