The following transportation policy was adopted by the Ellington Board of Education at the June 8, 2016 Board meeting.
The link below is to the bus routes for the Ellington Public Schools. The following bus routes are tentative and may be adjusted as needed.
2016-17 Bus Routes (Updated 10/26/16)
Students should be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the bus arrival time. Please allow additional time as bus runs tend to take a little longer than normal the first few days of school.

Special Circumstances Transportation Request Form
Use this form if your child(ren) will go to and/or from school using a location other than your normal pickup or drop off for a one-time event.
For Elementary students’ bus transportation to another location is available only if the alternate location is within the schools busing zone and the requested change is to a pre-existing stop. All Special Circumstances Transportation Requests must be submitted at least one full school day prior to the event and are contingent upon available space on the alternate bus to which the student would need to be assigned.

Requests for Transportation Changes
The Ellington Board of Education has established a policy based on state guidelines to provide safe, reasonable and appropriate transportation services to Ellington students.
Bus Stop Change Request Form
Any parent who may have an issue with their child's bus stop should first contact the bus company, First Student, at (860) 875-6675 to discuss the concerns. If the issue is not resolved after speaking to First Student, you may pursue your concerns by completing the online Transportation Change Request Form below.
Your request will be reviewed by the district’s transportation coordinator as soon as possible. A decision will be made once all pertinent information related to your transportation request has been reviewed. We appreciate your patience while your request is being processed.
Dual Household Transportation Request Form
Use this form should you require dual household transportation.
Transportation will be provided only within your school busing zone and set up at both locations at an established bus stop.
By August 1st you must submit a new form for each school year; it is not assumed your arrangements will remain the same.
Alternate Transportation Request Form
Use this form if your child(ren) will go to and/or from school using a location other than home, or if you plan to transport your child(ren).
You must submit a new form for each school year by August 1st; it is not assumed your arrangements will remain the same. Due to the volume of requests, changes for the new school year submitted after August 1st may not be accommodated for up to one calendar month from time of submission.
