Substitute teachers are required to hold a bachelor's degree. To apply, please submit the online form below and then contact the Board of Education at 860-896-2300 to make arrangements for fingerprinting and background checks. You will be notified when your application has been processed and you have been placed on the substitute teaching list. Please note that depending on demand, the state may take twelve weeks or more to process background checks.
Daily subs will earn full day rates of $115.00, teacher certified daily subs are at $125.00, and retired Ellington teacher subs are at $135.00 The 1/2 day pay (4 hours) will be at $61.33, $66.67 and $72.00, respectively.
