Ellington Unplugged: Unplug to Connect and Live a Healthy, Balanced Life

Ellington Unplugged encourages students, staff, families, and community members to be more mindful about technology use and to make intentional choices that support well-being. The initiative highlights simple, meaningful practices that strengthen relationships, reduce distractions, and promote a more balanced lifestyle.

The program invites the Ellington community to:

  • Connect for 24 minutes every day with an uninterrupted conversation.

  • Spend time in nature to quiet the mind and enjoy the outdoors.

  • Cook meals from scratch and share them with others.

  • Stay present and choose screen time thoughtfully, recognizing the impact of constant digital stimulation.

  • Be authentically yourself, avoiding comparisons and focusing on your own growth.

  • Create more than you consume by engaging in hands-on, imaginative activities.

  • Live with honor, guided by the district’s Seeds of Civility to cultivate kindness and meaningful service.

Together, these practices support healthier habits, stronger connections, and a more mindful approach to everyday life.
