Employment

Current Employment Opportunities

The application process for positions may differ for internal and external candidates depending on the position. By union contract, some positions may be required to be posted internally for a certain number of days prior to being opened to outside applicants.

Openings will be posted on our website under Employment Opportunities.

To apply for a posted position, you must complete a pre-employment application. Please include any information which is requested. Applicants for certified positions are asked to apply online through the provided link. Applicants for noncertified/support staff positions as well as substitute teachers are asked to download, complete and mail the appropriate application to the address on the form. All applications will be retained and considered active for a one-year period. You will be contacted should you be selected for an interview.

If you have questions or need assistance when completing the application process, please call the Ellington Board of Education’s central office at (860) 896-2300.

Upon hiring, all applicants must submit to a state and national criminal check, as is required by State law. This will be done through the fingerprinting process. During this process, all applicants will be asked if they have ever been convicted of a crime, or if charges are currently pending.

The Ellington Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, marital status, national/ethnic origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, or disability in its programs, activities, and employment practices as set forth in compliance with the Office of Civil Rights, Title VI, Title IX, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Any person having inquiries concerning the Ellington Public Schools’ compliance with Title VI, Title IX and Section 504, should contact Dr. Kristy LaPorte, Director of Special Services at the Ellington Public Schools, P.
