All Connecticut teachers must hold a valid teaching certificate. Please keep in mind that it is the teacher’s responsibility to keep track of the expiration date of the teaching certificate/endorsements and to renew the certificate in a timely manner. If your certification is expiring, please submit an application for renewal to the Connecticut State Department of Education, either online or by paper application, at least eight to twelve weeks prior to your expiration date. Below is a link to the CSDE website. Failure to apply for renewal in a timely manner could result in a lapse of your certificate.
