Sports Online Registration
How to Join a Sport at Ellington High School
In order to participate in interscholastic sports at EHS, the following requirements must be met prior to your child beginning tryouts or practices for each individual sport :
1) Completion of Sports Registration via Infinite Campus : CLICK HERE
2) A Sports Health Assessment Record (Physical Examination) completed by the Physician and
Parent/Guardian must be submitted directly to the Ellington School Nurse, Christy Ballasy. The Physical form and Nurse Ballasy contact info can be found under the "Sports Online Registration" .
The CIAC has "returned" the dates of the physical examination back to 13 months. You must submit a copy of your latest health physical if it is not current. Athletes will not be permitted to try out/practice/participate in any sport without a valid current physical on file with the school nurse. No exceptions can be made.
3) Ellington Public Schools has provided its Athletic program access to a concussion management system called Impact. All EHS student athletes must have completed a baseline Impact test as directed by school personnel, typically the Athletic Trainer. This must be completed prior to the first date of competition. The baseline test is re-administered every other year in grades 9 & 11. This information will be used in the event a student athlete sustains a concussion throughout the school year.
4) All eligibility requirements set by the CIAC and Ellington Public Schools must be met in order to play a sport.
