**PLEASE NOTE: If a student is interested in staying to watch an after school sporting event a signed note that includes the student's name must be handed in to the homeroom teacher during homeroom on the day of the game or meet.


Ellington Middle School is a member of the Connecticut River Athletic League (CRAL)

The league includes: East Hartford, Tolland, Illing, Timothy Edwards, Sage Park, and JFK.

Fall sport tryouts will begin during the week of September 3rd. All athletes planning to participate in a fall sport must have a sports physical on file with the Ellington Middle School Nurse. You can find the form linked below. In the fall you may choose to tryout for boys or girls soccer, or participate in co-ed cross country.

Fall sports sign ups will be sent out in early August. You will be able to view the link in your email, as well as, linked here on the site.


Sports Physical Form - REQUIRED to attend try-outs or practices

To be eligible to tryout or participate in any middle school athletics team a Sports Physical Form must be on file with the EMS School Nurse before tryouts or, for Cross Country and Track, before the first practice begins. Without a Sports Physical students will not be permitted to participate. There are no exceptions. Sports Physicals are good for 12 months.

Coaches will be handing out all other required forms at the first practice. Additional forms will be available in the main office. (Forms include pay to play, student athlete handbook, participation permission, concussion and sudden cardiac arrest)

**If you plan on taking your student home after an away event please sign your student out with the coach. If your student is going home with someone besides their parent or legal guardian you must provide a written note to the coach.
