A Message From Mr. Mitchell - EHS Interim Principal

Good Afternoon EHS Students and Families,

Please join me in congratulating our senior class! Their final day of regular classes here at EHS was yesterday, and just one week from today, they will be sitting on stage at graduation! A special thank you to our ECSA Scholarship Foundation which gave out over $165,000 in scholarship money to our seniors this past Tuesday night.

In addition to graduation next Friday, we will also begin underclassmen exams that day (June 12th). This newsletter includes underclassmen exam schedule and logistics. If a student needs to request an alternative time for an exam, the student and their family must 1. Have a guardian reach out to a school administrator stating the reason for rescheduling. 2. Once approved, use this Early Exam Request Form to work with teachers on scheduling exams. 3. Return the form to the school counseling office or main office.

As the weather continues to get nicer, I wanted to remind our students and families of our EHS Dress Code. Thank you!

Enjoy the warm weather this weekend,
Jon Mitchell
EHS Interim Principal

A Message From The Nursing Office: Medication Pickup

Dear Parent/Guardian:

As required by Ellington Board of Education policy, all medication must be picked up at your child’s school by Thursday, June 18, which is the last day of school. Please make arrangements for yourself or another responsible adult to pick up your child’s medication from the school nurse. Any medication that has not been picked up on the last day of school will be discarded.

In addition, please see the enclosed medication authorization form for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Please have your child’s health care provider complete one form for each medication that your child will be taking at school. Be sure to complete the parent/guardian section. Prescription medication must be in the original pharmacy bottle or box with the prescription label. If it is an over-the-counter medication, please bring in a new, unopened package.

All forms and medications for the next school year should be brought to your child’s school nurse prior to Aug. 27, 2026. If you have any questions, please contact your school nurse.

Thank you for your cooperation and have a fun and relaxing summer.

Lu Ann's Cupcake Sale from June 8-12, with $1 from each sale benefiting the Ellington High junior class.

Attention Families Of The Class of 2028

Friendly reminder to parents/guardians of incoming juniors: An updated physical is required before the first day of 11th grade. Any physical completed on or after January 1, 2025, meets the state requirement.
If your child has not yet had a physical, please schedule an appointment as soon as possible to avoid any disruption to the start of the school year.
You can email the school nurse, Christy Ballasy at cballasy@ellingtonschools.net. If you already have a physical appointment scheduled for the summer, please reach out to make the nurse aware.
Thank you!

Attention Students Who Took ECE Courses:

Students who have taken an Early College Experience (ECE) course at any point during high school should plan to submit their official UCONN transcript to their attending college once any in-progress course grades are finalized. UCONN recommends waiting until after July 1st to request a transcript. Students will need to login into their UCONN portal to request a transcript to be sent to their college. EHS does not send UCONN transcripts. A link with instructions is included below. You may utilize the credit transfer database search link below to determine if your college will accept the transfer credit. UCONN credits are college credits you have already earned and paid for. Don't miss out on transferring those credits where you can!

Remember: you do NOT need to be attending UCONN for the credit to transfer; 85% of colleges will accept the credit.

The Knight Spot School Store is closed until the next school year, as indicated by a sign.
