College & Career Information

The Career Center has college catalogs, view books, and pamphlets from a large variety of colleges and universities from around the United States. These items are located along the back wall of the career center, as well as in the filing cabinet on the back wall. Information about the armed forces, technical schools, and various careers is also available. Students are welcome to browse through this information when they have free time.

Job Shadows

As of their second semester Sophomore year, students can request to go on a job shadow. The Ellington High School Job Shadow Program allows students to spend time with and talk to a professional in a field that interests the student. Past shadows have included such diverse careers as Architecture, Finance, Archaeology, Massage Therapy, Zookeeping, Oncology Nursing, Diesel Mechanics, Park Management, and Elementary Education. Shadow requests in any field are welcome, but cannot be guaranteed. See Mrs. Himes in the Career Center to discuss this opportunity.
