Dear Center School Families,
I wanted to share with you a little bit of what our staff worked on during the 1/2 day Professional Development last week.
As we continue to grow as a school community, our staff is spending time learning more about the positive impact of restorative circles and how they can strengthen relationships, build community, and support student achievement.
Restorative circles provide students with a structured opportunity to listen, share, reflect, and learn from one another. They help create a classroom environment where every student feels heard, valued, and connected.
Our staff is studying effective practices and exploring how we can intentionally use circles to strengthen our school climate and culture.
We are excited about the possibilities this work creates for our students and look forward to continuing to build a school community grounded in connection, respect, belonging, and accountability.
So far, the strongest takeaway isn't simply that “circles reduce discipline.” It's that restorative circles can help create the conditions in which learning happens:
Relationships → Belonging → Engagement → Fewer disruptions → More time learning → all of which will lead to Stronger Achievement!
I hope you have an excellent weekend!
Michael
