A Message from the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction:

Ellington schools are dedicated to providing high-quality education to all students. We aim to develop exceptional learners and leaders who are engaged citizens. Our current focus is on enhancing student engagement and rigor in classrooms.

We utilize major curricular resources such as Illustrative Math (K-10) and Core Knowledge Language Arts (K-5), along with OpenSciEd units for inquiry-based science (K-8). Other subjects use district-developed resources accessible to teachers with support from Lead Content Specialists and administration. We also employ iReady and mCLASS for math and literacy assessments through grade eight.

To support our families, we offer resources such as multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and detailed insights into our literacy and mathematics programs. Our annual reports showcase achievements and areas for growth, ensuring transparency.
